As a Supply Technician (Property) GS-2005-7, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
Assist property management activities related to inventory and equipment management. Perform limited segments of Management studies on the utilization of property, and makes informal recommendations based on data developed. Assist the senior specialist with agency standards, guidelines or policies for property and fleet management functions. Coordinate equipment, supply, and inventory management functions; review equipment support plans by analyzing operational reports, plans and other data to determine procurement and acquisition actions. Coordinate authorized vehicle repairs, regular vehicle maintenance to include updating vehicle registration and inspections, and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the fleet maintenance and inspections function for senior specialist review. Responsible for the purchase and issuance of supplies and/or equipment, placement, inventory, and fleet activity. Process request for new vehicles, analyze monthly usage reports and recommend corrective action when necessary and prepare monthly vehicle reports. Process property vouchers, reconcile discrepancies and assist Custodial Officers at local and field offices. Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through Nation Service programs (e.g. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps) and other organizations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. One (1) year of specialized experience with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the Federal service that includes:
Serve as a Property Assistant providing technical support in the administration of an automated property management system. Coordinate personal property and supply management functions such as inventory control and accounting for capitalized and non-capitalized property, disposal of excess and surplus property, moving and storage services, motor vehicle management, receiving, technical assistance, and training in property, fleet and museum property management. Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
