Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assists students with the exploration of academic options, set academic goals, and provide detailed program and course information; provides advisement support for students interested in all academic programs; participates in outreach activities which can include advising presentations, recruitment events and committee work as assigned; collaborates with other departments, divisions and community resources; facilitates career exploration and assist students with major declaration; utilizes student information systems and other software as required; provides information on resources outside of CNM; plans, coordinates and implements programs that are designed to improve student retention and success; identifies academic and support service needs for students; coaches students to appropriate solutions; interprets CNM policies and procedures; exercises considerable judgment interacting with students, staff, and the public; works effectively under pressure; demonstrates problem solving skills and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; exhibits a team based student centered work ethic; attends mandatory trainings; participates in professional development as determined by the department; performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years' directly related experience as an academic advisor or two (2) years in a student services capacity at a post-secondary education institution.
This position requires a background check.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
