Participates in developing, updating, and implementation of college-wide environmental, health and safety programs formulating maintenance strategies and policies to ensure compliance.
Advises the college community regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), American Disability Act (ADA), National Consensus Standards such as NFPA, IFC and New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) and local ordinanceOverseeing emergency equipment inspections, coordinating fire drills and researching applicable codes for safety compliance issues.
Serving as technical expert to advise Safety Committee and Management in applicable EHS compliance issues.
Participates in the development and implementation of college-wide safety programs and in formulating maintenance strategies and policies.
Conducts routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of classroom laboratories and college facilities.
Perform industrial hygiene studies (light, noise, air samples) in the workplace.
Conduct EHS trainings.
Responds to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, radiation, or fire and smoke incidents; prepares reports of findings and submits recommendations.
Analyzes accident and incident reports for trends; makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
Assisting in developing or updating, and implementing environmental programs.
Leads and/or guides the work of lower level safety technicians and/or student employees.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Occupational Health or related field. Five (5) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
