Minimum Skills/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Information Management (RHIA) or signed agreement to complete within four years of accepting the position. Must have any one of the
following coding certifications at time of hire: CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H or CPC in lieu of RHIA credential. Requires a minimum of five years experience in healthcare CPT-4, ICD-9 and
HCPCS coding. Certified AHIMA ICD-10 Trainer designation preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Detailed and results oriented. Ability to work
independently and make independent decisions. Medical terminology and anatomy and physiology knowledge required. Project management skills required.
Primary Job Functions
- Maximize reimbursement while ensuring compliance with the Organization's financial goals and policies and procedures as well as compliance with all Federal and State laws and
regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain a standardized, quality data management plan and program to ensure compliance with external regulatory and accreditation requirements, ensure consistency of
quality data for the organization's internal data needs and identify, investigate, and prevent violations.
- Develop and maintain standardized, policies and procedures to monitor the success of the quality coding and clinical documentation improvement management plan, review areas of
risk, investigate identified issues, report data analysis, and take appropriate steps to correct violations.
- Liaison between coding and CDI staff and internal and external customers or stakeholders (e.g., Business Office, Admitting, Quality Department and physicians).
- Perform evaluations of direct reports. Ensures all evaluations are complete for other staff within hierarchy.
- Perform all staff interviewing and hiring, including orientation and training of all new staff.
- Prepare annual budget; including operational and capital; ongoing variance analysis and other operational support.
- Ensures technology is used appropriately and optimally. Envision future technology needs for the coding unit.
- Attends and participates in a variety of committees and meetings as needed.
- Provide and maintain communication, leadership and supervision with staff to ensure the team is in alignment with organizational vision, values and strategies.
- Perform other functions as assigned.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
