Job Description:
This position is responsible for the development of RTCA DO-178 compliant software for embedded airborne avionics systems in general aviation aircraft.
Key
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the creation of embedded airborne software to expand features and functionality of legacy communication, navigation and surveillance avionic equipment in the general aviation market space.
Code primarily in C or C+
and work in embedded modern tool chains and development environments.
Identify and propose technical innovation using software engineering knowledge and principles.
Work within an integrated product team to ensure successful execution of complex, system requirements driven development project.
Lead efforts in developing and improving software engineering processes
Provide technical expertise as a team leader or member on a variety of projects and programs.
Apply avionics systems standards such as DO-178 to avionics design and development.
Design and develop new technologies and applications for products.
Recognized as a technical authority within Bendix King.

Qualifications
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering,
computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study, or 4 years experience in Software Engineering in lieu of degree.
10
years experience developing for embedded systems or aircraft avionics products.
Due to export restrictions, this position requires either United States Citizenship or United States Lawful Permanent Resident status to work on Government projects and programs.
Additional
Qualifications:
Strong software development skills with demonstrated ability in C, C++, and/or assembly.
Experience with programming and developing on embedded systems with demonstrated understanding of low level RTOS, memory management and data I/O concepts.
Direct experience developing bootloaders, OS board support packages (BSP), and low level drivers is highly desirable.
Experience or familiarity with RTCA DO-178 software development process
Familiarity with the creation and management of all software development life cycle artifacts including high level requirements, low level requirements, test cases, and test procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and engineering team members.
Knowledge of general aviation and avionics.
Private Pilot license a plus.
