ResponsibilitiesSterile Processing Tech Job
Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for decontamination, correct assembly and sterile processing of all instruments used in the operating room and ambulatory/specialty clinics.
Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret the surgery schedule and take a lead role in determining the instrumentation and staff work flow.
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the procedures/policies required for decontamination and terminal sterilization of instrumentation while instituting protective measures to assure proper decontamination and sterilization.
Demonstrates operational knowledge and technical competence when using equipment and supplies and can precept new employees in cleaning instruments/equipment/supplies properly and stores them securely.
Maintains instrumentation/equipment in good working order and reports malfunctions or broken items or unsafe instrumentation to appropriate personnel.
Demonstrates working knowledge of decontaminator, ultrasonic, washer sterilizer, hand washing delicate, flexible, power instrumentation, steam, plasma-hydrogen peroxide, paracetic acid methods of stylization.
QualificationsSterile Processing Tech Minimum Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent Advanced knowledge of regulatory standards for universal precautions, sterilization methodologies, and regulatory standards for biological monitoring Ability to take a lead role in work flow and problem solve equipment malfunctioning Preferred Job Requirements:
