Summary:
Assist MD or RN with advanced inpatient and outpatient care.
Apply complex casts, splints, specialty braces, CPM's, Ice Boots and other orthopedic devices under the guidance and supervision of attending medical staff.
Maintain orthopedic equipment.
Exercise functional and technical lead over lower level Orthopedic Technician staff.
Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Patient care assignment may include:
Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups.

Responsibilities:
PATIENT CARE - Assist RN or MD with advanced inpatient and outpatient care; apply advanced casting techniques to include coaptation splints, spica, serial club and other casts as requested PATIENT CARE - Assist physician with complex invasive procedures to include wound debridement QUALITY - Identify and recommend areas of improvement within assigned area; monitor quality assurance within assigned unit ADMISSION - Assist patients and families with all aspects of the admission, transfer and discharge process; may schedule patient appointments as required EDUCATION & TESTING - Coordinate and monitor competency testing; may provide educational sessions to residents, staff; assist physicians with seminars, demonstrations and patient-care instructions DUTIES - May be required to perform level I or II technician tasks and duties related to assigned area of responsibility as needed LEAD - Exercise functional and technical lead over lower level Orthopedic Technician staff DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops PATIENT CARE - Assist in preparation for procedures by removing necessary medications from the medication Pyxis PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may not seem right PATIENT CENTERED MED - Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicableQualificationsEducation:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
