POSITION DESCRIPTION:
PERIKIN is seeking a skilled and responsible individual to join our team as a Construction Field EngineerAs a vital member of our organization, the Field Engineer assumes a pivotal role in overseeing and managing medium to large-scale construction projects, ensuring seamless, safe, and efficient executionYou will play a vital part in ensuring that construction progresses according to schedule while strictly adhering to contract specificationsYour expertise will be instrumental in maintaining the highest quality and safety standards throughout the project's lifecycleThe worksite location for this position is located on Kirtland Air Force BasePRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures Coordinates with the superintendent on workforce planning Maintains project document control and procedures Supports project engineers and superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings Participates in the supervision of self-perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking Identifies issues on-site or in defined work scopes Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plans, Inspection, and Test Plan Develop and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners Ensures project materials and workmanship meet the project Quality Standards and Design requirements Obtains necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors, municipal/provincial authorities, and owners Creates, maintains, and executes the project plan and schedule; and ensures compliance with the budget Create a team atmosphere within project teams, inclusive of subcontractors and trade labor Maintains the project's Daily Job Diary EDUCATION &
Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field:
construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as a field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience Knowledge of construction specifications, methods, and procedures (e.
g.
, formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques) Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
), Procore OSHA 30 certification KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to work and write clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers, and inspectors Ability to work independently or as part of a team Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Willingness to follow safety guidelines and procedures Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in the construction project while handling complex issues and personalities Ability to pass Government Clearance to enter federal installations Valid Driver's License Must access and navigate all construction site areas in all types of weather Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
