Information Technology System Administrator - Level 2

The Information Technology System Administrator will be part of an information systems team responsible for planning, installing, monitoring, and maintaining networks and equipment. The contract has a variety of classified and unclassified networks and a significant quantity of IT equipment dedicated to varied purposes. This team member will employ their skills to support the mission at Kirtland AFB, NM in several different facilities. Occasionally, travel is required to support staff and mission requirements in the field. This position will challenge the knowledge and skills of any candidate but allow accelerated professional growth and experience for the right team member. Duties:
Perform System Administration role and functions for a Government network; monitor/evaluate system performance Maintain IT infrastructure including laptop/desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers. Interface with host systems and manage network interface requirements; schedule/perform security updates Develop and maintain access and authorization accounts for computer systems Configure and maintain computer systems, including hardware, software, and applications. Ensure data is stored securely and backed up regularly Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues Replace and upgrade defective or outdated components when necessary Provide technical support; research/recommend new approaches to improve network computer systems Document processes for other staff to successfully work, operate, or configure network computer systems Communicates with all internal and external stakeholders Occasional travel Required Skills:
Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or equivalent experience Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols Programming languages and operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, server management (i.e. Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.), virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching DISA STIGs/SCAP Security
certification 5-10 years of Government network or system administration experience Identified, analyzed and resolved security, network, and computer system-related matters Preferred Skills:
Network
certification Virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent Cybersecurity implementation such as firmware updates/upgrades and STIGs to a baselined system Familiarity with scripting Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs) Experience with the Special Access Program (SAP) community Ability to work with limited direction and handle multiple projects on short timelines Demonstrated leadership abilities in a fast-paced multi-compartmented work environment Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. An active Top Secret security clearance is required. This is a full-time position located at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
System & Network AdministrationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
