Education:
High School Diploma, (G.E.D.). One to three years experience in maintenance related fields
Preferences - High Pressure Boiler Operators License (BO2) and 5 years of experience within Healthcare industry.
Summary:
To plan, coordinate control, and perform, Facility Maintenance operations within a specified portion (Zone)of PHS-Albuquerque facilities, as they currently exist, and provide for an uninterrupted flow of utilities based upon existing design criteria. Major emphasis shall be placed upon preventive and predictive maintenance. The Mechanic shall be capable of working with supervisor, other Zone mechanics of higher skill levels, and specialized tradespeople to assure that the assigned Zone is maintained in a superior quality manner
Responsibilities:
Performs preventative maintenance procedures, on fixtures and equipment within a predetermined zone in a timely manner as prescribed in Facility Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Primarily responsible and accountable for performing repairs, lubrication and adjustment to all hospital equipment to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks. Must be able to understand and operate under supervision while adhering to established PHS and Facility Services policies, procedures, and schedules.
Evaluates and monitors the performance of building and utility systems in assigned zones.
Understands and adheres to PHS and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Continuously improves technical knowledge and skills through participation in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Develops an understanding of the departmental operating budget and makes recommendations for improvement to ensure operations are within budget. Makes recommendations to reduce maintenance costs within the department.
Serves as a resource to departments within zone in the area of facility maintenance operations.
Supports organizational visions, values and strategies.
