Job Description KOAT TV in Albuquerque has an opening for a Director Of Engineering.
(DOE) Our Chief Engineer supervises the daily broadcast operation of the station.
The ideal candidate will manage and execute assignments to our engineering staff that will support our live broadcasts and programming Will oversee studio and field equipment; and will supervise our engineering staff.
Our DOE is also responsible for overseeing the physical maintenance of our station and property.
Our DOE maintains the equipment located throughout New Mexico that broadcasts and provides content of our multiple on-air program streams.
Responsibilities also include monitoring multiple air channels, maintaining regulatory compliance, and assuring quality control of our on-air product.
The ideal candidate must excel in leading and motivating a high-energy team and should demonstrate success in budgeting, capital planning and personnel management.
This position reports directly to the General Manager and serves on the station's Department Head Team.
Job
Responsibilities:
Oversight of all studio and field equipment.
Supervision of the daily operation of the station.
Supervise technical and operational staff.
Oversight of IT integrity and infrastructure.
Maintain transmitter, satellite antenna systems, signal distribution and routing systems.
Exhibits working knowledge of television maintenance as well as FCC requirements and licensing.
Has ability to adapt to multiple priorities.
In-person attendance is required Experience Requirements:

years of experience in studio, SNG and ENG broadcast operations Previous leadership and management experience Budgeting and Capital planning Hearst Television is a proud supporter of military veterans.

Qualifications Requirements:
Computer literacy is mandatory.
FCC General Class License a plus.
Education:
Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
