Robinson is looking to hire a Director of Export Compliance - Global Forwarding.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring excellence for C.
H.
Robinson's export compliance activities aligned to the global forwarding division along with oversight of Dangerous Goods activities.
The Director of Export Compliance serves as an internal and external subject matter expert along with senior members of the Compliance team and will report to the Vice President Global Compliance.
They will be responsible for creating efficiency and process improvements to the global network, developing internal and external relations, as well as leading and mentoring the compliance team.
Success is measured in this role by monitoring risk mitigation and realizing process and efficiency gains for both customer and internal stakeholder satisfaction.
This position may be located anywhere in the continental United States.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Management:
Provide leadership and oversight to C.
H.
Robinson's Export teams and Dangerous Goods program Create policies and procedures collaborating with stakeholders across the organization and the broader global network to strengthen C.
H.
Robinson's compliance environment Establish subject matter expertise and ensure its availability and exposure both commercially and internal on a global scale Monitor and communicate proposed and/or regulatory changes, as well as the associated impact on stakeholders Build and maintain business relationships with clients by providing up-to-date compliance and market intelligence Governance of periodic audits, assessments, and reviews to ensure compliance to policies Identify and resolve issues that could potentially result in fines, penalties, or loss of privilege to C.

Robinson Coordinate and assist with identifying and implementing technology solutions to recognize efficiencies and improve net revenue Oversee and provide direction to C.
H.
Robinson's GF hazardous material handling and training program and policies Talent Management:
Establish clear performance objectives for team members Provide added structure and alignment to branch personnel globally and the AES filing team Work effectively in a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally, building relationships with account management, operational teams, sales, and senior leadership Enhancement and management of employee development needs as it relates to compliance i.

Certified Export Specialist (CES) Provide regular feedback, coaching and guidance to direct reports Assess, calibrate, and manage talent, leveraging analytics and observation to align roles and resources appropriately Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university Minimum 8 years export compliance experience to include knowledge and understanding of global trade laws and regulations including those administered by CBP, BIS, OFAC, DDTC or similar global regulatory agency requirements and knowledge of ECCN categories and Export License conditions/processes and Dual Use Commodities Minimum 5 years of direct people management experience leading a compliance team at a senior level Travel of up to 25% as needs arise Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
Certified Export Specialist (CES) certification or similar certification Experience in Global Forwarding export / import duties Working knowledge of hazardous material Knowledge of internal treaties and agreements that impact internal trade compliance including but not limited Wassenaar Agreement, Australia Group, non-proliferation, and facilitation regulations, etc.
Experience interacting with global customs authorities and other government agencies Knowledge of Harmonized Schedule, Schedule B Strong knowledge of North America, LATAM, EU, EMEA, Oceania and Asian export compliance regulations Maintains awareness of international activity, trends, upcoming changes to regulations effecting the international trade environment.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, prioritizing multiple tasks, proven through demonstrated track record Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly convey relevant information to a broad spectrum of global audiences Strong collaboration and strategic influencing skills, demonstrated ability to bring together multiple diverse stakeholders to achieve objectives Demonstrated ability to deliver novel and practical solutions to solve complex compliance/international logistics issues.
