# Duties and
Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision of the Administrative Director of Distance Learning, the Distance Learning Technician receives communication and information from distance learning faculty related to online courses and publisher supplemental materials. Provides basic media and online tools trouble shooting and refers faculty to tools and/or resources to help resolve technical issues. Refers non technical related questions to appropriate Distance Learning (DL) staff member.
Responsible for timely term to term course copies; insuring integrity of course copies following the standard CNM Learn template through compliance reports. Updates online class shell elements at the request and direction of faculty members based on standard protocol and best practices. Maintains database of internal faculty tools and/or resources. Provides support to faculty in the weekly DL open labs.
Communicates frequently and effectively with various project collaborators to assist with ensuring department goals and objectives are met. Represent department at assigned meetings as needed.
Conducts research on national trends, topics, changes and/or updates with online learning. Provides regular reports on online courses to distance learning administrator. Assists in the distribution of distance education course materials Performs other related duties as assigned.
# Minimum Requirements:
Associate's degree and at least two (2) years' experience that is directly related to online higher education learning.
# Preferences:
In-depth knowledge and proven proficiency in learning management systems, Blackboard Learn prefered, Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; online software and technology such as Respondus, Bb Collaborate, wikis, blogs and discussion boards, demonstrated knowledge of mobile applications for online learning, strong written and oral communication skills and customer service orientation; the ability to balance competing priorities. Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive, confidential, and operational information. Ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment. Highly organized and problem solving abilities, task-oriented, and flexible.
Ability to read analyze and interpret materials related to distance learning. Attention to detail and ability to write business correspondence. Ability to handle common and detailed inquiries or complaints. Effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers and the general public.
Ability to work and apply basic mathematical concepts. Skill in the use of personal computers, online learning software and other related software applications.
Ability to troubleshoot online software. Ability to use independent judgment to manage and maintain confidential information. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify problems and/or issues and forward to the appropriate staff.
Experience as an online student or instructor.
Demonstrated knowledge of trends in distance learning and instructional technology.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
