POSITION
Summary:
The University of New Mexico Information Technologies (IT) Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill two IT Security Analyst 2 positions. The positions are under indirect supervision.
The Information Security Analysts (ISA) are responsible for Information Security and Privacy Events, Incident Response, and Breach responses as part of the Information Security and Privacy Office (ISPO) service area, and reporting to the Information Security and Privacy Officer. Provides technical support, as well as advice and counsel to authorized investigative bodies, and to the Internet Technologies department in support of secure IT operations, and including security and vulnerability assessments, project and product security evaluations. May supervise or provide functional direction to staff or student employees.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Develops and maintains hardware and software for enterprise forensics analysis tools.
2. Reviews departmental and University-wide projects for security requirements and provides security plans to safeguard sensitive and protected information
3. Participates in the review of RFPs, Contracts, and other purchase vehicles to safeguard sensitive and protected information.
4. Analyzes logs for workstations, servers, applications, networks, and security appliances and devices to assist in the response to information security events, incidents, and breaches.
5. Provides individual and/or group instruction and training to students, faculty, and/or staff on information security and privacy.
6. Provides information security and privacy support for research and development initiatives and for the implementation of new secure technologies for university-wide adoption.
7. May serve as project leader for projects with large scope and university-wide impact, directing and integrating the work of other staff related to information security and privacy.
8. Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art information technology and privacy equipment, and/or systems; participates in professional development activities as appropriate.
9. May supervise or provide functional direction to lower graded staff and/or student employees performing the same or similar work.

Job Requirements
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR
Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
OR
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
1. Experience with IT forensics hardware, software, processes and procedures
2. Experience with developing PCI compliance programs
3. Certifications
a. CISSP
b. GIAC
c. ITIL Foundation
d. IT Forensics certifications
4. Understanding of and familiarity with security and privacy regulatory requirements including:
a. PCI
b. HIPAA
c. Research/ IRB
d. FERPA
e. GLBA
f. ITAR/ Export Control/ Classified Research
5. Understanding of ISO Standard frameworks for Security, Privacy, and Quality
6. Experience providing executive summaries of security and privacy issues to executive management and leadership

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
