# Duties and
Responsibilities:
An instructor is responsible for providing high quality instruction so that each student may meet course outcomes. Collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to improve the student learning experience. Full-time instructors are expected to perform school, program or discipline, and college service in addition to their duties, listed below. This service beyond instruction is an integral part of college faculty performance.
Instructional Duties:
Responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning in courses assigned. Create and model a quality learning environment to support a diverse student population including students with disabilities or special learning needs. Maintain student records and provide documentation for incompletes within established College timelines. Utilize a variety of technology-based programs to access and input information related to student records and college/school/department processes. Assist students with registration, advising, and graduation processes.
Structure classes and curriculum to correspond with program and course outcomes. Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate. Convene classes as scheduled and respond to student inquiries. Provide assistance to students outside the classroom through posted office hours.
Incorporate, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in classroom, distance learning, and laboratory environments. Attend in-service sessions, college/school/department meetings, graduation and convocation as required. Provide for the security of facilities, equipment, and instructional materials and maintain safe working conditions. Participate in the development and review of course and program outcomes. Instructors may be assigned other instructional responsibilities as determined by the Dean.

To ensure compliance with federal and college requirements, some mandatory training must be completed for this position.
# Minimum Requirements:
Currently licensed as a cosmetology instructor by the New Mexico State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists in good standing.
At least 15 credit hours of general education classes toward an Associate's or Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution.
A minimum of 2 years recent experience as a cosmetologist or cosmetology instructor.
# Preferences:
Associate's degree or bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning
Experience teaching in a cosmetology program
Demonstrated experience in a community college
Demonstrated teaching experience at community college or post-secondary level
Experience teaching online, hybrid, or web-enhanced courses
Experience teaching multiple courses/levels within the discipline
Applied knowledge of classroom retention and student success techniques
Use of a variety of teaching methods including lecture, collaborative learning, individualized instruction, and various forms of technology based/supported instruction
Experience with outcomes assessment
Demonstrated success in meeting the educational needs of a diverse student population
Demonstrated success in meeting the educational needs of students with special needs
# Work Schedule::
CNM hires both two-term and three-term instructors dependent upon program needs. Two-term instructors teach fall and spring terms (9 month contract) and three-term instructors teach fall, spring, and summer terms (12 month contract). This position is a three-term teaching position.
Position begins Spring Semester 2015.
Variable based on the instructional needs of the college, daytime and evening, with locations at different or multiple campuses.
Instruction of fifteen (22) contact hours per week at assigned campuses; five (3) office hours per week, ten (5) additional on-campus hours per week

Additional Comments: College, School, Program/Discipline Service includes the following: This position reports to the Dean of the School of Health, Wellness, and Public Safety. Instructors provide excellent instruction to achieve high academic standards in a supportive, student-centered, community college environment. Instructors employ a variety of teaching methods in order to achieve student success. In addition to teaching duties, which are outlined in detail above, instructors will maintain contact with the dean, maintain a high level of contact with faculty in their discipline, support and attend meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. Successful completion of job duties and responsibilities requires computer literacy. General
Responsibilities: In fulfillment of their compensated workload and in addition to their normal duties (listed above) full-time instructors are expected to perform school, program/discipline and college service (listed above). This service beyond instruction is an integral part of college faculty performance. CNM respects, requires, and depends on the service full-time faculty members perform. Instructors must meet the learning needs of a diverse student population, prepare lessons, grade exams, and conduct office hours. Assist in curriculum development and perform other related duties as assigned. To ensure compliance with federal and college requirements, some mandatory training must be completed for this position. In addition, the selected candidate will be required to successfully complete CNM's Tools for Teaching and Online Instructor Certification courses within the first 2 terms of employment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
